What is leadership? This was the question that was asked yesterday at the Crossing Leadership Retreat at River Oaks Church. Once a month, there is a Leadership Retreat for several Crossing students. Our lessons are on how to become more effective leaders at our schools. Yesterday, we really looked at the heart of leadership, and discussed who some leaders were. Our discussion director Randy really looked at two leaders; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Adolf Hitler. I know, how can a man that directed and lead the cause to over 6 million deaths be considered a leader? He really went into depth about how these two men, although with very different morals and goals, became great leaders who people followed. What these two men did will be remembered forever and their effect on the world will change the worlds view on many things. The challenge was: what kind of leader were we going to be?
